The binding is a little worn. The boards are surface scuffed and worn, and the corners are edges are a little bumped and scuffed. The front hinge is cracking, and although held by binding threads, has a bit of movement and is shaky. The leather around the front hinge is a little worn, chipped and peeling. The rear hinge is beginning to  crack a little to the top and bottom compartments, although remained very firm. Internally, the front and rear endpapers are foxed, browned and a little grubby. The contents have light toning throughout, with some scattered light grubbiness and thumbing. There is some very pale staining to the start of part one, and a little heavier towards the rear of part two, see images closely. There is some scattered foxing/browned spots, with some slight heavier patchy browned spots to the rear of the first part. There are a few scattered faded ink marking in places. The first couple of leaves of main text, have repair, one of which is a large but very neat repair to lower margin, not affecting text. There is some corner creasing towards the rear of the volume, and a little heavier to the last couple of leaves. [4], 172, [4]; 315, [9], p Complete.Profusely illustrated throughout (every page of main text) is wonderful medallion vignettes, and numerous decorative tail pieces throughout.Guillaume Rouillé (c1504 – 1589), was one of the most prominent humanist bookseller-printers in 16th-century Lyon. A good edition of this famous illustrated work by legendary printer Guillaume Rouillé.Please see the other items we have listed for AuctionFREE UK SHIPPING
