Louis.M.DC.LXVI(1666)A lovely little volume, bound in full contemporary calf and measures approx 15cm x 9.5cm x 2.7cm. The extremities are lightly rubbed, and the corners a little bumped. The spine covering is rubbed to gilt decoration, and the top and bottom edges are a little worn and nicked. There are hairline crack to the top and bottom of the front hinge, although board remains firm. Internally, there are marbled endpapers to the front and rear. There is an armorial bookplate of Lord Sandys to the inside front board. There are a couple of small marks, else the contents are in lovely crisp, and bright condition throughout.[24], 377, [1] p.There is an engraved title page, a portrait and 10 further engraved plates.Lucan was a Latin poet whose only surviving work, The Pharsalia, is an epic about the civil war between Julius Caesar and Pompey. PackagingAll our books will be carefully and securely packaged in custom made book boxes (The majority of which are produced Carbon Neutral). The Bubble packaging and boxes are all recyclable, and most tape used is environmentally friendly (we are constantly researching ways to reduce our environmental impact without compromising safe, secure and affordable shipping). We aim to send all items within 24-48 hours of payment.
