This book is a fascinating record of the men from Stewkley who fought and died in the Second World War (Stewkley is a small village in Buckinghamshire, and lies a few miles west of Leighton Buzzard).
The book has a foreword by fellow group member Lieutenant Colonel Ingram Murray, and tells in the greatest possible detail the actual stories of the servicemen from Stewkley who died in World War II... war had moved on in technological terms, lessons were learned from the horrors of the Western front, leadership was more professional, and soldiers were no longer the cannon fodder of the 1914-18 trenches.The book is illustrated throughout with several black and white photographs, and it provides a unique insight into one particular aspect of Stewkley's social history....
Condition of the book is generally excellent. The cover is clean and tidy, the staple spine is intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound. Their is a small price sticker on the rear side cover.
