The principles of present and likely future communication systems are described, and illustrated with reference to actual and proposed systems including computer networks and satellite communication. The manner in which communication theory can be be used to provide a framework for system design is indicated also, theoretical and practical consideration being approached in an integrated manner rather than as separate topics.
