Etched by Rowlandson from a design by Woodward. Hand-colored etching on laid paper; 21x18 cm (ca. 8.25 x 7 in). Trimmed within the plate mark, just clipping some of the letters in the title, a couple of light spots.

The semi-literate (and far from anonymous) love letter in question reads: “My Der [?]: When your Wife is gone too bid — meat me in the Garding... Truly Yours, Betsey Blossom.” The ensuing discussion is not going well for the husband.
