Review
Celebrate! offers an insightful, helpful analysis of the complexity of working with diverse children, families and staff to include holidays in our programs. There is a big vision offered here for living respectfully and joyfully together, as well as practical ideas for administrative structures, practices for teachers and useful language for respectful conversations. As a teacher in the program where Julie is the director, I see the daily way she takes leadership using the ideas she shares in this book. Julie's approach works to include and connect us all. It's often not easy, but so worth the effort. This book will support you well through your own journey to anti bias holiday practices and more--it is a resource like no other. --Deb Curtis, children's teacher, mentor, consultant, and authorCelebrate! offers an insightful, helpful analysis of the complexity of working with diverse children, families and staff to include holidays in our programs.
