Cambridgeshire - The County of the Fens, edited by Arthue Mee
Published by Hodder & Stoughton in 1947, 240 pages. Hardback & Dust Jacket (A19Q)
From the rear side cover: A remarkable event has been going on quietly and unguessed at for many years in our countryside. There has been nothing like it before; it is the first census of the ancient and beautiful and curious and historic possession of England since the motor-car came to make it possible. It is a book of every town and city, every great and visitable place, and of ten thousand villages. It takes us to them and shows us what is in them. It opens ten thousand doors for us in the richest countryside on earth. We see our famous people where they lived and worked. We challenge comparison with any book existing for the contents of the King's England volumes. There has never been such a book of journeys before. It will inform and entertain you wherever you go. It will tell you what there is to see and all about it. It is the indispensable companion of the Motor Age.
The condition of the book is generally good. The dust jacket has several minor scuffs and blemishes, and light wear along the edges and corners, but the spine is intact, and all pages are intact, unblemished and tightly bound.
When we post our books, we take great care in packaging them - first your book will be wrapped in bubblewrap, which protects the book and even keeps out any rain (in the event that it's raining when the postie delivers it!). Then we wrap your book in stiff cardboard, taking care to make sure all the corners are protected, and finally the package is wrapped in thick brown paper.
