Thanks for looking!About the Book:This is a story of a 20th Century Pioneer, a true story of faith, devotion, adventure, hardship and fulfillment. The author came to this country in 1905 with her husband, who was a convert to Mormonism. She was doubtful and confused about this new religion that her sweetheart had espoused. But she was firm in her faith and her love for him, so she vowed that she would follow him wherever he led her. Her faith in Martin never waivered and as she followed him, she too was converted to Mormonism. Their story is not uncommon, but it is exciting, interesting and faithpromoting. NIKOLINE ISAKSEN was born November 6, 1877 on the small Island of Men, Denmark. She married Martin Jensen Isaksen January 24, 1905 in the Damshoite Kirke, where she was christened and baptized and confirmed. The next day they left for America and her fears that she would never again see her mother's face were realized. It was 1946 before she and Martin returned to their homeland -just three years after her mother passed away. But during those 41 years she had lived an exciting and adventure-filled life with her beloved Martin whom she had followed faithfully whither he had gone. He died in April, 1947 in Copenhagen. She took his body back to America for burial and again made her home in their adopted land. For the next 23 years Nikoline lived a rich and full, though lonely life. She returned twice to her beloved homeland to re-live the tender memories of her childhood and youth before she followed her husband to the spirit world.
