A special blessing, given to her mother just before Janeen was born, resulted in her starting with piano lessons at the age of 4. Throughout her life, music has played a dominant role. Janeen offered to play the piano in the first grade, when the teacher was having a difficult time with a song, and ended up as the class accompanist. Daughter of Owen S. and Agnes Jacobs, she was the eldest of 11 children. She performed with her 6 younger sisters, as the ‘Jacobs Sisters’’, in Idaho, Utah and California. At age 17, Janeen co-authored and directed her first roadshow and continued to spend most of her Church service time in the MIA (APYW). She has written numerous roadshows, all with original music, and two full-length musical comedies. At BYU, Sister Brady was active in the Opera Workshop, the Delta Phi Chorus and the Student Program Bureau. Also while in college, Janeen met, and later married, Ted Brady. Brother Brady, an excellent musician with a Master’s degree in music composition, has been Janeen’s number one source of support and consultation.
