Up for sale is a Very Rare, SIGNED First American Book Club Edition, (BCE), of The Spy Who Came In From The Cold by John Le Carre.
SIGNED BCE's of This Le Carre Classic are Scarce and Becoming Increasingly Hard to Find!!
John Le Carre, (1931-2020).
Hardcover with its original dust jacket.
Published by Coward-McCann: New York, 1963.
Boldly SIGNED on the first, blank page by the celebrated author!
NOT inscribed to anyone, simply and elegantly SIGNED by the late, great John Le Carre!
Please note there are TWO additional signatures present on this page!
Initially, we believed the other signatures might be of some importance. Unfortunately, we have been unable to ascertain, with an acceptable degree of certainty, the identity of the other individuals who also put their signatures on this page.
For this reason, we MUST proceed with an abundance of caution and assume the other signatures are simply the names of some previous owners.
The additional signatures adds no monetary value or have any cultural significance. If anything, the additional signatures should be viewed as an unfortunate flaw!
Once again, we want to repeat that there are TWO additional signatures present on the same page as the John Le Carre signature and we believe the other signatures are simply the names of some previous owners.
A First American Book Club Edition, (BCE).
Essentially, this is an early reprint.
Please remember this is NOT a First Edition/First Printing!
Please also remember this is the AMERICAN Edition, NOT the U.K. Edition.
Once again, we want to repeat that this is NOT the First Edition/First Printing of this title.

The rips has resulted in some loss of paper.

We tend to grade the condition of our books rather harshly and took into consideration any and all wear when determining the value of this rare book.
We purposely and closely photographed what we consider to be the most obvious and egregious wear.
Once again, we want to reiterate that the wear to both the book and the dust jacket is very clearly visible!
All of the wear, especially to the dust jacket, should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying.
Numerous photographs from various angles were taken for your consideration/inspection.
