This first edition and first printing 2009 hardcover book is the sequel to Knife Of Dreams and is Book 12 to and the beginning of the end of The Wheel Of Time cycle of books.  Author Robert Jordan passed in 2007; however, he had already begun writing this book and had outlined the rest. His editor selected Brandon Sanderson to complete the work.  In this book, Rand al'Thor, the Dragon Reborn, seeks to unite kingdoms in preparation of the Last Battle.  At the same time, he attempts of stop the Seanchan invasion to the north, and his allies fearfully watch the shadow growing in Rand al'Thor himself.
