About this collection:I have the privilege of offering for sale here on eBay, a very special collection of rare First Edition books, that are the pride-and-joy of a dear friend of mine, a British author and historian. It is a sizeable library of between 4000 and 5000 books. Not then the largest library to exist, but what is striking about it is not just the tidiness, cleanliness and orderliness, but the condition of all of the books, which are so beautifully bright and crisp as to make it look more like a shop selling new books than a library of rare vintage first pressings spanning the years 1870 to 2020 (150 years of heavyweight classics in the Horror, Supernatural, Occult, Esoteric, Fantasy, Science Fiction, Thriller, Suspense and Mystery genres - almost all the books are fiction). The library has taken 45 years to put together and the simple, minimalistic glass-fronted floor-to-ceiling shelving is stunning and allows the bright colours of the spines to dominate. The books will be listed regularly over a relaxed period of time, starting with the 'Stephen King Section' and a smattering of notable others. There are 200+ items in the Stephen King section of the library and the first batch is now listed, with more to follow soon. Be sure to add me to your saved sellers and check back often. There are a great many heavyweight names that feature in this library and in the case of some authors, there is a complete set of U.S. and U.K. first pressings. It could take years to get through them all, but that's all cool.I have been as thorough and accurate with all details in each listing and the photographs are extensive and clear and compliment my descriptions. If there is anything else you would like to know, that is specific about the book you are interested in, please contact without hesitation, it would be great to hear from you. I am open to close offers if approached in a respectful manner. Thanks :)The book on offer:Author: Stephen King (1947 - present)Title: The Dark HalfPublisher: Viking PenguinEdition: 1st Edition, 1st Pressing, 1st State DustjacketPublication Date: 1989Binding: HardbackBoards: Blue and Black ClothOriginal Price on inside flap: $21.95Book Condition: Fine (As New)Dustjacket Condition: Fine (As New)Confirmation of Pressing Status: The number 1 is the lowest number on the copyright pageNumber of Pages: 431ISBN No. (if applicable): 0-670-82982-XPostage:Domestically (U.K.), this item will be sent fully insured by Royal Mail 1st Class Recorded, due to the value and rarity.
