A first edition (and likely first print) of ‘Scientific Study Of Unidentified Flying Objects’ by physicist Dr. Edward Condon.

This massive tome is a legendary book in the amateur and academic study of UFOs. It is the culmination of 20 years of academic research commissioned and sponsored by the U.S. Government, and upon its publication in 1969, effectively ended all debate of UFOs in academia and the culture at large. It is, in a real sense, the final word when it comes to the existence of UFOs. However, it did not entirely rule out their existence (see Case Study 2, pg 248).

The book is conditioned as Acceptable. The binding is strong, the text is free of writing, and the book boards show only minimal wear. The dust jacket is a deep gray as crisp as the day it was printed and shows know fading.

The spine of both the book and dust jacket show signs of bumping. And the dust jacket has minor wear around the edges. There is also tape on the inside of the jacket at the top and bottom of the spine. Additionally, the number ‘89’ is written in one on the front end paper. (Pictured).

It is a great book with great character. It ended the UFO craze of the 50s and 60s. It does not get more interesting or charming than this.
