The contents include early history of rifled arms, propellants and projectiles, development of the military breech-loader, modern military rifles critically examined, military ammunition of today, simple ballistics, shooting in war, in the field and on the range, eye training and aiming, the effect of cant, care of the rifle - and much more. The text is accompanied by numerous black and white illustrations, 65 plates and a fold-out nomograph for rifle elevations. Condition: It is in fair to good condition. There is minor soiling with moderate edgewear to the cover. The corners are worn, the top and bottom of the spine is softened and there is a tear along one side of the spine. There is moderate soiling with light brown spotting to the outside of the page ends. There is minor soiling and light tanning to the endpapers. There are business stickers on the back, and a book plate on the front, endpapers. A faint outline of pencil markings is noted on the front endpaper. There is light brown spotting on the pages throughout the book. The pages are unmarked by notations or highlighting. The fold-out nomograph has a slight tear at the inside margin edge.
