Unfortunately, this rare treasure has some VERY clearly visible wear!
The wear to both the book and the dust jacket is EXTENSIVE!
Typically, we don't sell books with such a severe degree of wear, but when factoring in its' desirability and scarcity, we have decided to list this copy.
The substantial wear played an important role in our VERY LOW asking price.
The considerable wear to both the book and the dust jacket should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying.
Some general/shelf wear along with...
Scuffing/creases/marks/wear to the spine/corners/cloth boards. The wear is particularly noticeable near/along the edges and on the spine. The wear to the spine has resulted in a very clearly visible altering of the shape/cloth. One can also see some space/separation along the top edge of the spine.
Foxing/marks/wear to the edge/fore pages. The foxing/marks are extensive!
Creases/warping/marks/wear to the pages. Varying in size and severity and particularly noticeable on certain pages. The wear is considerable!
Internal writing. A previous owner name is written in pen and located on the first, blank/colored page.
Wear to the binding. While the binding is still holding, one can very clearly see some separation/rips. The wear is most noticeable at the area between the first, blank/colored page and the half-title page. This area has substantial wear and the the webbing is exposed! The wear to the binding is considerable and the book should be handled and/or opened carefully to avoid further damage and possibly a complete separation/detachment of the boards/pages.
All of the wear is very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered.
The original, First State dust jacket is fully intact and NOT price-clipped but also has extensive wear!
Some general/shelf wear along with creases, scuffing, marks, rips and a few pieces of clear tape.
Please note the wear on the spine, at the corners and near/along the edges!
The wear, particularly near/along the edges, is considerable and very clearly visible!
All of the wear should be carefully examined/considered.
We tend to grade the condition of our books rather harshly and took into consideration any and all wear when determining the value of this rare book.
Our VERY LOW asking price is a reflection of that consideration and if this copy was in better condition our asking price would be considerably higher.
We purposely and closely photographed what we consider to be the most obvious and egregious wear.
