He distinguishes the pure event from the historical event, in that the latter takes place and has all kinds of specificity such that it "takes place," while the former eludes determinations and is instead a kind of becoming. Lundborg considers the processes of actualization and counter-actualization of bodies, the visible and movements; the production of 9/11 in all kinds of institutional and policy structures erected in its wake; the politics of what Deleuze calls folding; and the possibility of alternate encounters with the event. Th is well written, and while of the most interest to students of philosophy and political theory, the way that Lundborg incorporates television and otherwise news content shows some relevance to students of media-studies and journalism too.
