Author Biography

Dr. Felicity Thomas is a lecturer at the University of Exeter and a research associate at the University of Sussex. She has worked, published and taught in the areas of migrant health and wellbeing, HIV/AIDS and international development, and been involved in a number of NGO projects with refugees and asylum seekers in sub-Saharan Africa and the UK. She has authored a number of journal publications on migration and health, and recently edited Mobility, Sexuality and AIDS (2010). Dr. Jasmine Gideon is a lecturer in development studies at Birkbeck College, University of London. She has worked and published on issues relating to gender and health policy in Latin America, economic and social rights and access to health care services, and is currently writing Gender, Globalisation and Health: The Latin American Context. She is currently working with Latin American migrants in the UK, exploring their health seeking behaviour.
