LOT # 91 - TWO FIELD GUIDES TO BIRDS OF BRITAIN , EUROPE , North Africa

I have the best selection of nature and science books on E BAY .   I’m selling off part of my personal collection of over 3500 + field guides and other books on natural history and science so keep checking all my auctions . Due to the large amount of books I have on Birds , it will take about a week to list all of them so keep checking back .  

You are bidding on a used soft cover book called RSPB Handbook of British Birds by Tim Cleeves . This is 6” x 9” with 320 pages from 2012 . This is a completely revised and updated edition of the bestselling field guide .  This unique guide provides a 'biography' of each of the 279 commonest British bird species. It covers all aspects of field identification, using illustrations from the highly acclaimed Handbook of Bird Identification to show all common plumage forms. The text also covers behavior, breeding biology, population, status, longevity and any other interesting facts about the species concerned. A detailed distribution map is provided for each species. New to the third edition is a rarities section, featuring 24 additional species, and six brand new comparison artwork spreads illustrating difficult to identify species - such as ducks, waders, warblers, raptors and gulls - alongside one another. This is in excellent condition , like new but has a price in pencil inside . 

 A used soft cover book called Birds of Britain and Europe with North Africa and the Middle East (Collins Pocket Guides) , 4th edition , ISBN-10: 0002192101 by Hermann Heinzel . This is 5” x 8” with 336 pages from 1979 . This book describes over 1000 birds that are found in all of Europe, West Russia, the Caucasus, some of Iran, the Atlantic islands (Madeira, Canaries etc.) and North Africa (i.e. Morocco). It understandably does not include the entire Arabian peninsula (only the very beginning of it). Distribution maps are present for most birds, except for vagrants and birds that have only very small distributions in the area (where their distribution will be stated in the text). The color illus are nicely done and if necessary .pictures of color morphs or distinct subspecies will be included.  Maps for each speice also are shown . This is in good condition , the cover show some wear , front has a 2" bend top corner and owners name .
