Author Biography
Renata was a wildlife carer for more than 10 years, caring for hundreds of marsupial animals. She now focuses on caring for the flora and fauna at Araucaria Sanctuary in Northern NSW, Australia. In a 'previous life' she was an academic in the field of primary, secondary and adult education and a researcher with children and young people. Abi is a writer from the U.K. (The Word for Woman is Wilderness published by Serpents Tail). She lived at Araucaria Sanctuary for over a year, hand-raising four orphaned gliders, along with pademelons and wallabies, bandicoots and bats. She loves to hike and is motivated by the power of citizen science to engage communities and foster kinship with nonhuman neighbours.
