Here is a vintage soft cover and staple bound book titled Handbook on Small Bore Rifle Shooting. It was written by Colonel Townsend Whelen and published in 1947 by Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute, New York. It is a Tenth Edition. The book is 76 pages in length and measures about 6 inches wide, 9 inches long and 0.1 inches thick. "This handbook is intended for the beginner in rifle shooting. It gives the principles on which good marksmanship is based in a practical manner so that the reader can apply them without an instructor, and thus teach himself to shoot." Also included are instructions for building rifle ranges and methods of organizing and conducting rifle clubs. Black and white photo images and illustrations accompany the text.  This complimentary copy was given to shooters by Winchester Repeating Arms Co.Condition: It is in fair to good condition There is moderate soiling with creasing and edgewear to the cover. There are small nicks at the top and bottom spine cover. There is minor to moderate soiling to the outside of the page ends with minor soiling to the endpapers. There is rusting with minor surrounding stain to the staples in the binding. The pages are intact and unmarked by notations or highlighting.
