Handbook of Nanophysics : Nanoelectronics and Nanophotonics, Hardcover by Sattler, Klaus D. (EDT), ISBN 1420075500, ISBN-13 9781420075502, Like New Used, Free P&P in the UKThe complete Handbook consists of seven volumes. The first four deal with theory and methods and the fundamental physics of nanoscale materials, while the last three, this volume included, deal with applications. The editor requested that contributing authors shape their submissions as tutorials, so that "state-of-the-art scientific content is enriched with fundamental equations and illustrations in order to facilitate wider access to the material"--from the preface. The aim is a broad audience of students and professionals in the many fields that intersect with nanoscale studies. In this volume 41 contributions are arranged according to theme: computing and nanoelectronic devices, nanoscale transistors, nanolithography, optics of nanomaterials, nanophotonic devices, and nanoscale lasers. Sattler (physics, U. of Hawaii) has had a long scientific and academic career and has initiated studies of spin-polarized photoelectron emission, atomic clusters, and nanophysics using scanning probe microscopy. Contributors are, of course, physicists, and they are based around the world. Annotation ©2011 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR ()
