Condition	“The front cover has stains, tanning & rubbing. A green marker was used to write SOC at the bottom of the cover. That would have meant that the book was to be categorized in the Sociology section of the their used bookstore. The same green marker was used to make a couple of green stripes on the bottom page edges. That was a price indicator, meaning that the book was marked down. The bottom fore corner has been sawed off which is a sure sign of a remainder (a book marked down by the publisher or distributor) and on the back cover of the book there is some damage (see the last two photos). No creases on the spine. Some foxing on the top page edges. The book is tight. Please see all the photos.”

This book was published in 1972 by Parisian Press in San Francisco with the stock # P 224. It was the third Billy Farout book. Billy Farout was the pen name used by William Edward Barber (1946-1992) when he wrote his five gay pulps (all in 1972), before he became famous as a poet. Nothing else like them ever got published. Barber considered them satire or parody, and that's a good description. His novels are sometimes described as comic porn. I'm listing a total of three Billy Farout books for auction. This particular Billy Farout novel is not listed for sale anywhere else on the internet.The Billly Farout books were quite popular in their day. The author recalled going to 42nd St. in NYC and seeing a sign in a store window saying "We have all the Billy Farout books".The cover was drawn by the famous gay erotic artist Sean, whose real name was John Klamik (1935-2005) and who was the "house artist" for Parisian Press. That's not mentioned in the Wikipedia article on him, nor is he given credit for all the great erotic (gay & straight) covers he did for Parisian Press. One of his most famous cartoon characters was Biff. One of the best places to freely see more of his very explicit gay art is on the blog part of this site: https://hommipublishing.men/blog/. The drawing on this cover shows two guys: the naive new arrival and what will turn out to be his first John. The new arrival is bulging in all the right places and is looking at the three coins he has in his hand. His other hand is scratching his head wondering what to do. John to the rescue...The ads in the back are numerous and they are divided and labeled for gay or straight readers. Parisian Press's retail outlet was Le Salon on Polk Street in SF, which was justly famous for having a very cruisy backroom with video booths. The ads are especially neat for the many more examples of Sean's erotic artwork. I taken photos of them and they are well worth enlarging.The book is stored (& will be shipped) in a polypropylene bag.I will combine shipping to reduce the cost.
