Author Biography
An engineer with specialization in economics, R.A Bridges, worked for 30 years with E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Co., serving, most of the time, as Manager of New Business and Investments for the South American region. Upon retiring from the company, he decided to stop along the way and "sharpen the saw" (one of the habits suggested by Stephen R. Covey in his book " The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People ", undergoing a renovation program. To this end, he returned to school to pursue graduate studies in Personal Financial Planning, in Florida State University (FSU). Additionally, he completed the process (Series-65), required to practice as an Investment Advisor in the U.S. He acted for several years as an independent consultant for HORIZONTE, a Pension Fund Administrator, affiliated with the BBVA group. In line with his mission to promote education on Personal Financial Planning, in 2007, Mr. Bridges created the company PM Advisors, whose core business is to offer financial education, primarily aimed at companies that want to help their employees to better manage their personal finances. In 1914, the author was called by the Financial Planning Standard Board (FPSB), the global entity responsible for education and certification of the financial planning profession, to be part of the worldwide Body of Knowledge committee.
