In its earlier years it was generally known as the Countryman’s Bible and no self-respecting country home was complete without its weekly copy.Most of the selections garnered here are those which came to me first-hand from descendants of pioneers, sometimes form pioneers themselves, and in most cases have not been recorded elsewhere in permanent form.In arranging this material I have tried, through a loose chronological sequence to show a developing pattern of life from the days of early settlement until the remnants of that age have given way to a changing era..”
