Volume One only of Holy Bible in three volumes. Beautifully illustrated by English-born American illustrator, landscape painter, etcher, and wood engraver, Harry Fenn and American landscape artist and illustrator, John Douglas Woodward. The two artists travelled together through Egypt and the Holy Land in the winters of 1877 and 1878 illustrating scenes and architecture.

Original gold and blind-tooled full leather with gold lettering on spines and covers. All edges gilt. Dentelles. Colored endpapers. engraved frontispieces. Engraved vignette on each of the 3 title-pages of the Bible. Rare and fascinating illustrated Bible divided in 3 parts: Volume 1: Genesis to Solomon.

Some beautiful full page engravings and numerous illustrations throughout text.

Large folio size.

Wear and tear as shown in photos. Boards are firmly attached. Pages in good condition although first few pages show age with some fraying to edges due to use.
