Selling here is  a good complete third edition of 'The History of the Life of Thomas Ellwood....', printed in London, 1765. J. W. being Joseph Wyeth.8vo, bound in period full speckled calf, spine with five raised bands and red morocco label. Period plain endpapers with previous owners bookplate, ink manuscript ownership inscriptions to upper endpapers.

The book measures 13.5cm by 21cm.

The contents are complete, meeting collation: xxvi, 448, [6]pp, including the final six pages of advertisements as called for. FOR SALE WITHOUT RESERVE.

Condition: Binding firm and in good condition, rubbed and scuffed to surface and edges, some chipping at foot of spine and head of lower hinge, some surface abrasions or insect action, corners bumped, the whole having had a generous application of polish. Contents are firmly bound and in good crisp condition, clean if just lightly toned, occasional minor spots, creases or marks. Portion torn from margin at lower outer corner of n4. Front inner joint cracking and quite possibly reglued.
